Expanded Metal Panels

Expanded metal panels are made from one solid steel sheet that is simultaneously slit and stretched to form a diamond pattern. This produces a rigid mesh panel free from welds and is inherently anti-cut and anti-climb.

Expanded metal panels come in two forms, raised and flattened. The finished expanded metal panel that comes off the press is considered raised. These panels can then go through a cold roll mill to become flattened. This process leaves the surface of the panel smooth and flat. See our key features and benefits for additional information on the benefits of expanded metal.

Features

  • Cut from Solid Steel
    • Expanded metal panels are formed from a single solid steel sheet
    • Weld‑free construction eliminates common failure points found in traditional welded wire mesh
    • No welded joints reduces long‑term corrosion risk and improves service life
  • Anti Cut / Anti Climb Performance
    • Small diamond‑pattern openings inherently resist cutting and climbing attempts
    • Breach attempts require specialized cutting tools and extended effort, increasing time, noise, and exposure for intruders
  • Flexible System Integration
    • Panels install as standalone security fencing or integrate easily with existing fence frameworks
    • Compatible with a wide range of posts, frames, and mounting hardware
    • Mesh patterns, panel sizes, and gauges can be specified to meet site‑specific security requirements
  • Visual & Physical Deterrence
    • Rigid steel construction and industrial appearance provide an immediate visual deterrent
    • Functions as both a physical and visual barrier, discouraging and delaying breach attempts
    • Designed to support additional perimeter security components, including razor wire, cameras, sensor cables, and detection systems
